Sr. Engineer, Rotor Blade Design
Skills
- Proficiency in 3D CAD systems such as Catia V6, Solidworks, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD.
- Experience with rotor system conceptual design, product lifecycle management, and composite rotor blade production.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to interact with management and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop design failure mode analyses and technical documentation.
- Background in helicopter or tiltrotor rotor systems with test plan development and data analysis experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct 3D conceptual layouts and laminate design for rotor blades using 3DExperience and other CAD tools.
- Collaborate with aerodynamicists, dynamicists, and stress analysts to ensure design integration and optimization.
- Develop technical specifications and create/release 2D drawings with GD&T using PLM systems.
- Support prototype build, testing, and production through design oversight and supplier coordination.
- Maintain DFMEA reports and assist Test and Flight Operations in planning and conducting rotor system tests.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
