Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking a Part-Time Compliance Program Systems Specialist for their Compliance Division. Under the supervision of the Vice President Corporate Compliance/Chief Compliance Officer the Compliance Program System Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the agency meets and upholds all compliance and program standards/regulations set forth by OPWDD, OMIG and all other relevant governing entities. This includes, but is not limited to, being well versed in OPWDD regulations and standards, conducting ongoing quantifiable system reviews and related staff trainings, and assisting the corporate compliance program operations as needed.

Salary: $55,000 per year...plus a comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.

Schedule: (21hrs) Tuesday-Thursday 9am-5pm

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts ongoing reviews of systems/procedures of quantifiable measures in programs that support successful OPWDD certification/recertification.
  • Creates and maintains quantifiably measurable program system assessment tools.
  • Provides timely written reports to corporate compliance and program leadership of review results that include data analyses when appropriate/indicated.
  • Supports the corporate compliance department by completing reviews of billing and service delivery documentation for the various funding streams as needed.
  • Delivers staff training on OPWDD program standards, regulations, and policies/procedures.
  • Identifies and addresses oversights and mistakes in pertinent program system documents.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across the agency to ensure the process of compliance with program systems is followed and optimized.
  • Collaborates effectively with corporate compliance peers to consistently represent compliance in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop effective presentation tools and to discuss compliance-related topics at meetings with departments, agency leadership and directors as needed.
  • Assists with the interpretation of regulations and standards, as well as the development/updating of program system-related forms that are consistent across departments (when possible). 
  • Remains fully knowledgeable and up-to-date with all relevant standards, regulations and policies. 
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS       

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience working in programs within the human services arena, with three or more of those years working to ensure adherence to OPWDD standards in programs within the I/DD arena.

  • Proven ability to maintain current knowledge of changing and emerging regulations and standards.
  • Ability to accurately transfer regulations and standards into assessment/audit/review tools.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and ability to pivot and reprioritize when needed.
  • Capacity to think strategically, as well as apply practical judgment in arriving at conclusions.
  • Ability to navigate technology to the extent needed to successfully complete all responsibilities of the position.
  • Strong, effective writing and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively present to/train groups as needed.
  • Ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with all organizational stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to operate in a rapidly changing work environment, with ability to adapt and be sensitive to organizational culture.
  • Possesses professional integrity, independent thinking skills and commitment to objectivity.
  • Ability to work flexible or extended hours as needed. Willingness to conduct reviews at program location, in homes of people supported, or other specified locations, as assigned.
