Skills
- Active J.D. license and ability to meet admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of legal experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, WordPerfect, and Westlaw software.
- Strong analytical, relational, project management, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational legal assistance to faith-based ministries in support of their religious missions.
- Formulate and assist in adoption and application of legal advice, policies, best practices, and resources for ministry operations.
- Advise on religious liberty threats and recommend protective measures for ministries.
- Educate ministries through speaking engagements, publications, webinars, and conference calls.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with churches and ministry partners.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base related to churches, ministries, and Christian schools; prepare legal resources.
- Conduct legal research, interpret laws and rulings, and provide tailored legal advice.
- Draft and review legal resources; collaborate with colleagues for legal analysis verification.
- Recruit and inform potential Church & Ministry Alliance members through events and presentations.
- Collaborate and advise Allied Attorneys to advance legal advocacy efforts.
- Engage with media on cases and issues as requested by ADF.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
