What does the future hold for the global aviation industry? Today, there are more than 12,000 Boeing commercial jetliners in service; airplanes that fly farther on less fuel, airplanes that reduce airport noise and emissions, airplanes that provide passenger-preferred comfort while delivering superior bottom-line performance to airlines. Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ Marketing team is looking for a Market Analyst to help us to continue our industry leading understanding of aviation market trends and future airplane requirements.
We are looking for highly analytical person who thinks strategically and is skilled at sharing insights with a range of audiences. This position researches, analyzes and communicates key market trends that will shape airplane demand over the mid-to-long term, including development of industry market outlooks.
Position Responsibilities
Identify market trends in all segments of the aviation industry
Lead research on airline, technical, regulatory and other market variables to support market analysis and strategic planning
Develop solutions to analytic challenges, including modeling, to support market forecasts and alternative scenario planning exercises
Provide insight into airline and lessor business strategies for both internal and external audiences
Develop and deliver market presentations and industry white papers
Contribute to the development and communication of Boeing’s view of the future of aviation markets and airplane demand
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
5+ years of experience analyzing economic and/or market data
3+ years of experience working in aviation, transportation, travel or tourism industries
1+ years of experience giving executive level presentations and/or public speaking
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
5+ years of experience analyzing aviation, travel, air cargo or transportation market trends and data
5+ years of experience performing statistical, data and/or predictive analysis
Demonstrable understanding of modelling techniques for identifying relationships and predicting outcomes in long time horizon applications, as well as scoping / implementing analytic solutions with large and imperfect data sets
Expertise in PowerBI, Tableau, or comparable data-analytics and visualization tools
Demonstrated experience conducting and presenting market research and analysis in a consulting, business or industry organization
Demonstrated critical reasoning skills, strategic thinking and storytelling capability
