What is the Global Shareholder Services group responsible for?

What is the Director – Global Shareholder Services responsible for?

We are seeking a strategic and operationally strong Director to lead our Global Shareholder Services (GSS) team, specifically the formation of a customer centric team that delivers on exceptional service. The Director will ensure operational excellence, risk mitigation, and superior client experience across all Transfer Agent services.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Director – Global Shareholder Services?

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end operations of the Transfer Agent team, including transaction processing, shareholder servicing, and account maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory requirements governing transfer agency operations.
  • Oversee the implementation of new policies, controls, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Fund Accounting, Product, and Technology) to support business initiatives and resolve complex issues.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues and client concerns.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and audit findings.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers and specialists.
  • Represent the TA function in enterprise-wide initiatives and industry forums.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Transfer Agency, fund administration, or financial operations, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of mutual fund operations, shareholder servicing, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with digital transformation, specific to mutual fund account access.
  • Ability to influence customer centric culture.
  • Demonstrated success in managing vendor relationships and service providers.
  • Ability to work hybrid schedule in Rancho Cordova, CA, St. Petersburg, FL or Boston, MA.

We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $122,000.00 - $150,000.00, depending on location and level of relevant experience, plus discretionary bonus.
