O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM) is hiring a Senior Risk Manager to join our Risk team. The successful candidate will be able to help our firm reduce and mitigate business, operational and investment risk through data analysis, process automation and project management. Candidates should be proficient in data analysis within SQL with a background or heavy exposure to a risk and/or audit team functions within financial services, preferably investment management. Experience in Python and C# is a plus.

The Product Solutions team at Franklin is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to work with senior members of the OSAM and Franklin MOST teams to independently identify investment and business risks, institute appropriate monitoring mechanisms and work with leaders to ensure concerns are reasonably addressed. This position is a high visibility career opportunity for a candidate with solid risk management experience with retail SMA, institutional and mutual fund portfolios and strong technical skills. The position will be challenging, exciting, and rewarding as the candidate will have contact with investment teams managing billions of dollars being implemented across thousands of investor accounts, and gain exposure/experience to quantitative investment solutions, custom indexing, derivatives, and other strategies.
Provide independent risk management oversight of quantitative equity, multi-asset class and managed option portfolios, and account implementation.
Collaborate with the investment and implementation teams to review and establish appropriate internal guidelines to monitor investor accounts and portfolios/strategies, and report exceptions on a regular basis.
Act as a collaborative and integral partner in the creation of new evaluation metrics as new investment strategies and implementation processes launch.
Develop and monitor key risk metrics using automated tools and visualization software (SQL, PowerBI, Python, C#)
Support design and implementation of controls, including review of daily operational readiness controls.
Collaborate with Franklin risk colleagues and Compliance in identifying, assessing, and reporting on risks within the business.
Leading BCP, Key Person Risk, Key Vendor Risk, and Risk & Control Self-Assessment exercises
Tracking Error & Tax Audit - Track and audit how well we are doing for our clients at delivering the lowest possible tracking error relative to associated benchmarks as well as taking into account our clients tax goals
Automate data reconciliation and as issues arise hand off the issues to key members of OSAM. Monitor the issue until resolution. Data arenas include: Security, Vendor, Custody, Internal
10+ years risk management experience, particularly in Quantitative Strategies and Derivatives (Options). Previous portfolio management experience will be considered.
Masters in finance, financial engineering or math, statistics, or other quantitative discipline (preferred).
CFA and FRM (preferred).
Strong quantitative skills.
Strong background in data analysis and SQL and strong knowledge of relational data structures
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to work independently but also collaboratively, think out-of-the-box and provide analysis and recommendations with credibility and confidence.
Ability to manage multiple projects but focus on and complete priority tasks. Experience in Python and C# is a plus
Practical experience in computational methods like optimization is a plus
Visualization experience is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
