Network Operations Specialist

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Network Operations Specialist to maintain security and performance of the network infrastructure. This position will be located in Columbia, MD and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

Monitoring network traffic, troubleshooting issues, implementing upgrades, and ensuring optimal network performance and security. Implementing and maintaining network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and operating systems.  Creating and maintaining documentation related to network configuration, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Effectively communicating with IT teams, other stakeholders, and users regarding network status, issues, and solutions.   

• Implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard the network from unauthorized access, threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Setting up and fine-tuning network equipment like routers, switches, and hubs.
• Developing and implementing strategies for backing up and restoring network data and systems. 
• Ensuring the reliability and functionality of the network through regular testing and maintenance. 
• Investigating and resolving network incidents, escalating issues when necessary, and communicating updates. 

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

• Clearance Required: TS/SCI
• 6+ years of experience in Tier II network sup-port, designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing complex network infrastructures.
• Skilled in network engineering, security implementation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• IAT Level II or higher

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process.
