Mechanical Engineer - Fixture Designer
Skills
- Mechanical design and 3D modeling (Onshape, NX, Solidworks)
- Proficient in 2D drawing creation and GD&T
- Experience in tolerance analysis, FEA, root cause and failure modes analysis
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment and electromechanical troubleshooting
- Knowledge of test fixtures, fine pitch assemblies, PCBA management
- Understanding of pneumatic cylinders, thermal management, and prototyping techniques
- Supplier communication and manufacturing support expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product impact and ensure rapid market readiness
- Brainstorm and evaluate new mechanical design solutions
- Conduct testing from calculations to physical multi-physics simulations
- Design high-performance, manufacturable parts and assemblies using high-volume processes
- Create and review detailed drawings and part specifications
- Manage bills of materials, cost, mass roll-ups, vendors, and engineering releases
- Define manufacturing processes and inspection methods
- Work directly with manufacturers to support prototype and production phases
- Support onsite builds at domestic and international contract manufacturing sites
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
