Commercial Segment Support Manager II

Overview:

Responsible for providing the strategic direction and management of the planning, development and implementation of various projects and initiatives in support of the Commercial Bank.  Typically will manage the most complex, critical and highly visible projects at the Commercial and/or Bank-wide level.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, inform, continually implement Commercial Bank Segment Support Strategy, aligning department roles, responsibilities, and driving adoption across organization.
  • Work with Commercial Bank partners to understand and influence overall Commercial Bank strategy and support needs based upon business objectives.
  • Demonstrate a thorough and expert understanding of the Commercial Bank, including key initiatives, major projects, staffing, and compensation needs.
  • Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect the business/department.
  • Help to shape Commercial Bank strategic direction creating analysis to further Commercial Bank strategies. 
  • Oversee and ensure proper direction on Commercial Bank strategic priorities and projects.
  • Set strategy for collaboration with internal partners on behalf of Commercial Segment Support team; includes development in support of Commercial Bank strategy, projects and initiatives, develop partnership with other departments as needed.
  • Take a lead role in setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements within the overall business processes.
  • Perform highly complex analysis and judgment based review, research, and/or reconciliation.
  • Interpret results and present findings to make or influence strategic decisions within the department or division.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to team members in order to achieve business results.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will manage a team of 5 or more employees

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years' related business line experience including 2 years’ leadership/supervisory experience, or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 11 years' higher education and/or work experience including 2 years’ leadership/supervisory experience

In-depth understanding of principles in discipline and basic knowledge of others

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,611.94 - $167,686.57 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
