Responsibilities
- Evaluate client needs for furniture, fixtures, and equipment to develop efficient solutions within budget and schedule.
- Develop space plans, interior layouts, and select furnishings and finishes compliant with district and industry standards.
- Participate in design specification development, providing detailed cost estimates for furniture and equipment.
- Review construction documents and conduct site visits to confirm safety, functionality, and aesthetic appropriateness.
- Plan and conduct meetings and site visits to assess project status and needs.
- Advise school personnel and facilities staff on procurement and interior design matters.
- Supervise projects and coordinate staff handling logistics and procurement to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Manage furniture and equipment orders including scheduling, reviewing, and contract specification.
- Consult with manufacturers and vendors for custom product design and procurement.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain lists of furniture, equipment, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Create interior drawings and visual aids for approval processes.
- Make recommendations on procedures, guidelines, and product standards.
- Assist in furniture and equipment replacement at sites.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
- Alternatively, 40 semester units in interior design with additional 2 years experience
