Interior Designer

O2EPCM, Inc. is an award-winning firm offering consulting and management services in planning, design, engineering, and construction. They seek an experienced Interior Designer to develop innovative, efficient space plans and manage project furniture and equipment needs in compliance with standards for public and private clients.

Skills

  • Expertise in developing interior space plans and layouts
  • Proficiency in furniture and equipment selection and procurement
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and code requirements
  • Strong project coordination and supervisory skills
  • Experience with product specification and vendor consultation
  • Skilled in creating interior drawings and visual presentations

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate client needs for furniture, fixtures, and equipment to develop efficient solutions within budget and schedule.
  • Develop space plans, interior layouts, and select furnishings and finishes compliant with district and industry standards.
  • Participate in design specification development, providing detailed cost estimates for furniture and equipment.
  • Review construction documents and conduct site visits to confirm safety, functionality, and aesthetic appropriateness.
  • Plan and conduct meetings and site visits to assess project status and needs.
  • Advise school personnel and facilities staff on procurement and interior design matters.
  • Supervise projects and coordinate staff handling logistics and procurement to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Manage furniture and equipment orders including scheduling, reviewing, and contract specification.
  • Consult with manufacturers and vendors for custom product design and procurement.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain lists of furniture, equipment, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Create interior drawings and visual aids for approval processes.
  • Make recommendations on procedures, guidelines, and product standards.
  • Assist in furniture and equipment replacement at sites.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Alternatively, 40 semester units in interior design with additional 2 years experience
