Product and Program Manager of Construction Automation and Integration

Description

About Us:

SoftBank Robotics America, a rapidly growing SoftBank Group company headquartered in San Francisco, is accelerating its presence at the intersection of advanced technology, AI, automation, construction and robotics.

At the forefront of innovation, we are launching a confidential program focused on deploying integrated software and hardware automation systems specifically tailored for the construction industry - transforming workflows, safety, and commercial site efficiency at scale.

As part of this next chapter, SoftBank Robotics America is seeking an accomplished Product and Program Manager of Construction Automation and Integration to lead the planning, execution, and integration of a sophisticated portfolio of automation initiatives that bring real-world impact to construction environments.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a visionary and experienced Product and Program Manager of Construction Automation and Integration to oversee the development and delivery of construction automation solutions, spanning embedded systems, robotics, AI-driven software platforms, and field-ready software and hardware solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in construction program management, systems integration and software development, and fluency with construction-oriented tools like the Autodesk Revit (or other BIM software), AI concepts and implementations, and current project management software platforms such as Smartsheet, Jira, Oracle Primavera, or Microsoft Project.

This is a strategic, hands-on role that requires exceptional leadership, rapid results orientation, technical fluency, and communication skills to align cross-functional and global teams—from R&D to field deployment—with business and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and integration of confidential construction automation programs, ensuring end-to-end alignment with organizational goals.
  • Drive program management across multidisciplinary teams, including software engineering, hardware systems, robotics, AI, product management, and field operations.
  • Partner with construction industry experts to translate site-level needs into scalable automation solutions combining mechatronics, computer vision, and cloud-based controls.
  • Develop and maintain detailed program roadmaps, timelines, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies using project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Asana).
  • Coordinate software and hardware development cycles, ensuring integration points are managed across prototyping, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Leverage Autodesk tools (Revit, BIM 360, Construction Cloud)?to ensure seamless planning, modeling, and visualization of automation systems within construction workflows.
  • Oversee financial modeling, ROI assessments, and business case development to support executive decision-making.
  • Build and deliver compelling executive-level presentations that communicate vision, value, and performance milestones.
  • Ensure delivery of excellence, governance, and compliance with safety, industry, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, rapid iteration, and continuous improvement to meet evolving construction site needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in program/product management across software and hardware initiatives—ideally with exposure to automation, or industrial systems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to deployment, preferably within a construction or industrial tech context.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit or other BIM software, the AEC suite, with the ability to integrate these tools into program workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, Oracle Primavera or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and systems thinking skills, with a track record of translating user needs into actionable technical programs.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed and multicultural teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to distill complex information into clear, strategic narratives for executive stakeholders.
  • Experience working in confidential, security-sensitive environments is a plus.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.

Position specifications:

  • Compensation: This is an FLSA Exempt position and pay will be determined based on experience level, location and demonstrated capability
  • Benefits: This is a fully benefited position (medical, dental, vision) with a generous PTO program
