The Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and driving the delivery of projects that provide exceptional business value to users. This role will organize project activities, identify risks, and effectively communicate both internally and externally. This role works hand and hand with upper management to provide guidance on the scope and direction, ensuring projects are on schedule, and collaborate with other departments for support.
· Manage software development projects from conception through completion to ensure success as defined by adherence to scope, timeline and quality standards.
· Translate the high-level organizational objectives into definable project scopes while focusing on regular and timely delivery to internal and/or external stakeholders.
· Work with Development and Technical Business Analyst to evaluate technical feasibility alongside user experience to make informed decisions and to drive successful outcomes.
· Determine resource involvement needed to complete the project; work with Development and QA to allocate resources as needed.
· Coordinate and lead various meetings as assigned or as needed.
· Document and distribute meeting minutes, knowledge base, and provide regular updates on project progress.
· Track project against plan, anticipate events which may require contingency plans; proactively identify and manage risks and dependencies, and recommend corrective action to avoid delays.
· Produce accurate and timely reporting of project status throughout its life cycle.
· Conduct retrospectives and post-mortems to identify and document lessons learned and to apply in future projects.
· Contribute to Controls roadmap planning and product backlog grooming.
· Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
· Define and manage the project management processes and champion ongoing process improvement.
· Apply best practices across various project management methodologies including Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid models as appropriate for the project and the organization.
· Lead or partake in various Controls release efforts including release coordination and scheduling, release note and release demo preparation.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), Business Management, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
· Master’s Degree (MS, MBA) is a plus.
· Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience managing software development projects using formal project management disciplines and methodologies is required. Candidates without direct experience in software development project delivery will not be considered for this role.
· Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and processes.
· Experienced in Agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., agile, scrum, Kanban, hybrid, DevOps, Jira, Confluence, SmartSheet, etc.)
· Experience managing projects both software and hardware in cross-functional teams.
· Advanced proficiency in Atlassian product (Jira, Confluence) is required for this role.
· CSM or A-CSM certification is a plus.
· PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
· Familiarity with in one or more of the following is a plus (e.g., PHP, Java, Node.js, Python, GoLang, React, MySQL, Azure cloud, POS, payment processing, or computer vision)
