Hardware Reliability Engineer, Failure Analysis (Gateways)
Skills
- Experience with electrical hardware development and failure analysis
- Proficiency in test equipment and measurement techniques (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.)
- Understanding of electronics reliability and failure mechanisms
- Knowledge of environmental testing such as HALT/HASS, thermal, humidity, shock, and vibration
- Familiarity with quality tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis
- Programming skills in Python and C/C++
- Strong circuit and PCBA analysis abilities
Responsibilities
- Design and execute reliability test solutions for ground antenna electronics and payload
- Conduct detailed failure analyses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Select COTS hardware or design custom PCBAs to measure signals and apply flight-like testing loads
- Support hardware through design qualification, production ramp, and network rollout
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, software, and supply chain engineers
- Perform electrical bench testing to replicate and mitigate hardware anomalies
- Develop tools to analyze field and lab data for continual design improvement
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related STEM field
