Sr. Account Executive, Business Development - Agency

The Trade Desk is a leading global media buying platform committed to transforming digital advertising for brands and agencies. We are looking for a talented Sr. Account Executive to drive business development with independent agencies, cultivating senior leadership relationships and expanding strategic partnerships.

Skills

  • 5+ years of digital advertising sales experience.
  • Independent agency experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with online publishers, ad networks, ad exchanges, ad servers, DSPs, or other digital advertising roles.
  • Programmatic platform sales experience highly preferred.
  • Strong multitasking in fast-paced environments.
  • Established relationships with decision makers at major agencies and advertisers.
  • Consultative client relationship building expertise.
  • Strong quantitative and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication with VP and C-level clients.
  • Ability to travel several times quarterly.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, build, and cultivate relationships with senior leadership at independent advertising agencies.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Client Services, and Trading teams to grow accounts effectively.
  • Own relationships with commercial and contract leads at anchor independent agencies.
  • Communicate the value of The Trade Desk’s media buying platform aligned with client needs.
  • Drive measurement-led conversations to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Participate in product roadmap discussions based on agency insights.
  • Lead proactive recommendations, RFPs, and expansion of client relationships beyond media.
  • Partner with product, marketing, and revenue teams to optimize company-wide goals.
  • Identify and develop unique selling propositions against competitors.
  • Contribute to company culture with a strong growth mindset.
  • Identify and close strategic up-selling opportunities by understanding client business needs.
  • Build deep, lasting connections cross-functionally within The Trade Desk.

Education

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in advertising, marketing, or related fields.
