Job details

Shopify Ecommerce Product Owner (Replatforming & Site Launches)

At UN/COMMON, we’re not your typical Shopify e-commerce agency. We bring bold, strategic thinking to mission-first brands and deliver real growth through meaningful digital experiences. Our team of creatives, developers, and strategists is passionate about challenging conventions and producing exceptional work while keeping things fun, fast-moving, and future-focused.

The Opportunity
Our team is growing, and we’re looking for an Shopify Ecommerce Product Owner who is ready to drive high-impact digital initiatives and deliver seamless ecommerce experiences for some of the world’s fastest-growing brands. In this role, you’ll own complex Shopify Plus replatforming projects, data migrations, and site launches from end to end. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across UX, development, QA, and business teams to turn strategic goals into actionable plans and deliver exceptional results. You’ll manage projects ranging from high-velocity startups to established enterprise brands, helping to solve complex technical challenges and ensure every launch is a success. This is a collaborative, fast-paced role for someone who loves solving technical challenges, managing details, and guiding teams to success. If you thrive in an environment where you’re the voice of the customer and the bridge between strategy and execution, we’d love to connect.

Who You Are
You’re a strategic thinker with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering top-tier ecommerce experiences. You’re equally comfortable digging into technical conversations, managing complex timelines, and communicating with non-technical stakeholders. You’re comfortable being client-facing, presenting plans, and guiding clients through complex technical decisions. You bring strong organizational skills, a collaborative spirit, and a relentless drive to get things done. You love turning business goals into digital solutions and thrive in fast-moving, agile environments.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Own the product vision and roadmap for key ecommerce initiatives, ensuring alignment with client goals and business strategy
• Define and prioritize product backlogs, user stories, and technical tasks to deliver maximum value
• Lead full-cycle Shopify Plus replatforming projects, including migrations from systems like Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Magento
• Oversee structured data migrations for orders, customers, and products using APIs and third-party tools
• Manage DNS cutovers, redirect strategies, and go-live QA processes to ensure smooth site launches
• Coordinate multiple technical aspects of migrations, such as SEO, ERP integrations, data management, and shipping rules
• Build and maintain project plans, sprint schedules, and release timelines
• Facilitate agile ceremonies like daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders across UX, design, development, quality assurance, and business teams
• Communicate product goals and technical requirements clearly and concisely
• Gather feedback, analyze market insights, and incorporate learnings into product iterations
• Serve as a trusted partner to clients, helping translate their needs into actionable solutions

What You Bring
We’re specifically looking for candidates who have directly executed at least one full replatform to Shopify Plus, including hands-on work with data migration tools, go-live coordination, and post-launch optimization.
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Project Manager, or similar role in ecommerce
• Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus, including themes, apps, checkout extensibility, and storefront configurations
• Proven experience leading replatforming projects from legacy systems like Salesforce Commerce Cloud or Magento to Shopify
• Understanding of DNS management, redirect strategies, and go-live QA best practices
• Experience with agile tools like Jira, Trello, or ClickUp, and strong familiarity with agile workflows
• Skilled in managing backlog grooming, sprint planning, and stakeholder communications
• Excellent communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Confident translating client requirements into clear, actionable plans for development teams

Bonus Points For
• Agency or consulting experience in ecommerce
• Familiarity with tools such as Yotpo, Recharge, Rebuy, Klaviyo, and middleware solutions
• Shopify certification or platform-specific training
• Knowledge of ecommerce compliance, accessibility, and localization best practices

Compensation & What to Expect After You Apply
• Starting salary: $88,000 USD annually
• Competitive based on experience and location

What to expect in the hiring process:
• Portfolio or resume review by our team
• Initial call with a member of our People team
• Interview with our Director of Delivery
• Final team conversation to discuss fit and working style

Why You’ll Love Working Here
• A high-impact role owning major digital product initiatives
• Remote-first culture with flexibility and autonomy
• Collaborative, fast-paced team environment
• Opportunities to innovate, learn, and shape the future of ecommerce
• 23 PTO days + 10 company holidays
• Year-round half-day Fridays
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance (regional availability)
• Paid parental leave
• Retirement plan with 4% match
• Annual employee stipend after one year
