We’re looking for a sharp, hands-on finance professional to lead financial planning and analysis at the center of a fast-growing fintech company. This role goes far beyond budgeting- encompassing everything from forecasting and liquidity management to capital markets support, portfolio analytics, and strategic decision-making. You’ll own and build core financial models, partner cross-functionally with teams like Credit, Servicing, and Capital Markets, and prepare high-impact materials for leadership and investors. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in structured finance and FP&A with a proactive mindset and a knack for simplifying complexity. Budgeting & Forecasting: Build and maintain the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and scenario models (loan originations, sales velocity, servicing cash flows, headcount, OPEX); lead monthly budget‑vs‑actual variance analysis, partnering with Accounting to reconcile data and drive actionable insights.
Portfolio Analytics: Analyze credit performance, prepayments, delinquencies, and servicing costs; translate trends into pricing, reserve, and capital‑allocation recommendations.
Capital Markets & Buyer Reporting: Support whole‑loan sales by preparing pool‑level strat tables, cash‑flow projections, and “data tape” analytics; partner with finance/legal on deal closings.
Management & Board Reporting: Produce monthly financial packages, KPI dashboards, variance analyses, and investor materials with crisp storytelling.
Liquidity & Cash Management: Build 13‑week cash‑flow forecasts; monitor warehouse lines, advance rates, and covenant compliance.
Systems & Process: Select and implement FP&A tools (e.g., Cube, Mosaic, or Adaptive), design chart of accounts, automate data pulls from LOS/servicing platforms.
Strategic Projects: Evaluate new products (e.g., FHA‑insured loans, refinancing), pricing changes, and “build vs. buy” tech investments; lead ad‑hoc deep dives.
Cross‑Functional Partner: Work closely with Credit, Servicing, Capital Markets, and Product to align metrics, share insights, and drive margin improvement.
5‑8 years total experience, with at least 3 years in FP&A, investment banking, structured‑finance analytics, or similar (fintech or specialty finance strongly preferred).
Deep modeling skills and comfort with loan‑level cash‑flow waterfalls, discount rates, and CECL/ALLL concepts.
Proven track record owning budgets, forecasts, budget‑to‑actual variance decks, and board packs end‑to‑end.
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets; proficiency in SQL or Python a plus.
Experience selecting or administering FP&A / BI systems.
Excellent written & verbal communication — able to distill complexity for non‑finance audiences.
Self‑starter who thrives in ambiguity and can prioritize ruthlessly as a solo practitioner.
Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA is a bonus.
