Senior Director, Retail Media

DEPT® is a pioneering technology and marketing agency known for innovation and integrated digital experiences. They seek a Senior Director of Retail Media to lead retail media strategies for a global wearable tech brand, overseeing a multi-disciplinary team and driving retail media integration across top US retailers.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of retail media platforms including Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel.
  • Proven leadership of omnichannel retail programs spanning search, DSP, content, and audience strategy.
  • Ability to navigate complex client organizations and build trust with marketing, retail, and commercial teams.
  • Analytical skills with experience leveraging data for decision making and investment optimization.
  • Collaborative and empathetic leadership style emphasizing clarity, accountability, and shared outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of retail platform mechanics, digital shelf dynamics, and media-content-merchandising intersection.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development and delivery of retail media programs across Search, DSP, Content, and Retail Strategy.
  • Co-create and drive the global retail media roadmap in collaboration with strategists, project managers, and media planners.
  • Act as senior lead across retail touchpoints ensuring integration across Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and emerging retail platforms.
  • Own relationships with retail media networks, advocating for beta access, strategic visibility, and joint innovation efforts.
  • Integrate retail media data and insights into broader marketing and performance strategies linking channel activity to business impact.
  • Align with client stakeholders on budgets, KPIs, and evolving retail requirements.
  • Define performance targets and lead reporting connecting retail execution with business growth and profitability.
  • Serve as strategic retail voice within cross-functional teams and nurture senior-level client relationships.
  • Support new business development through retail media strategy consultation and thought leadership.
  • Provide resourcing recommendations to optimize team effectiveness.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred but not explicitly required.
