Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Finance Technology Specialist to support its finance technology systems within the Accounting & Finance department.

Responsibilities

• Support existing finance specific technology and systems
• Track and maintain proper functionality of existing financial systems and facilitate timely software updates to ensure compatibility with existing tools and applications.
• Regularly evaluate the performance of existing technologies to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. 
• Ensure that all the systems meet the organization's needs for data accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure seamless integration of various financial systems with other business applications to enhance data flow and operational efficiency.
• Utilize critical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to work collaboratively with teams.
• Implement changes, including development, testing and resolution of issues with end users; making changes and corrections as needed; and coordinating communication of changes to organization.
• Coordinate problem resolution, technical analyses, workflow documentation and progress updates on assigned projects.
• Engage with cross-industry partners to help deliver new ideas and solutions
• Build self-sufficiency in end users to drive adoption of tools and solutions by educating finance and business users on effectively using systems and applications. Act as a subject matter expert and champion of finance technology solutions, providing guidance and training to multiple finance and business teams.
• Enforce policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency and security within financial systems.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Skills:

• Proficiency in financial software and tools, including accounting, budgeting and reporting systems.
• Excellent analytical skills including the ability to identify true needs and requirements
• Knowledge of data management practices including data warehousing, data lakes and data governance
• Understanding of security principles and practices to ensure the security of financial data and systems in partnership with IT
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services and their application in financial systems
• Understanding of accounting principles
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety and multiplicity of tasks and ensure timely and accurate completion
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, operations and business units
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in ERP management, with a focus on finance systems and technology
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint preferred
• Track record of supporting and enhancing software applications and solutions
• Involvement in end-to-end ERP implementation for finance preferred
• Experience with automation tools and technologies a plus
• Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools preferred
