Accounts Payable Accountant
Description
Responsible for the Purchase Order and Accounts Payable processes for 5 entities. Includes full PO to AP to General Ledger accountability as well as collaborating with Operational Managers to secure best pricing / terms on purchases.
- Ensure purchase orders have been input and approved.
- Match invoices to PO’s and resolve discrepancies with Operational Managers. Verify invoice accuracy and proper expense coding.
- Input invoices into M3 in accordance with monthly closing deadlines.
- Run weekly AP aging reports and coordinate payments with the Controller.
- Perform check runs, match checks with invoices and maintain AP files.
- Verify W-9’s are on file for applicable vendors. Perform annual 1099 filings.
- Review invoices for savings opportunities; bulk purchasing, proper rates, alternative products, alternative vendors, favorable shipping, etc. Meet periodically with Managers to brainstorm on cost saving strategies.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience with accounts payable, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Software suite of products. M3 experience is a plus. The individual should also possess basic accounting skills, attention to detail, a professional phone manner and the ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality. A professional, upbeat personality with a can-do attitude and a sense of urgency are keys to success!
- Experience monitoring purchases against budget would be a plus.
- General ledger and account reconciliation experience.
