Description

Location: Bloomsburg, PA 17815
Position Type: Non-Exempt | Benefits Eligible
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)

At Columbia Child Development Program, we believe that strong financial systems help create stronger outcomes for the children and families we serve. As a vital part of our administrative team, you’ll ensure timely vendor payments, accurate payroll, and smooth HR-related processes that keep our Child Care and Head Start programs running efficiently.

  

What You’ll Do:

  • Accurately process accounts payable via EFT, E-checks, live checks, and ACH reimbursements
  • Maintain general ledger entries and assist in financial reporting 
  • Prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll, retirement deductions, and wage attachments
  • Manage unemployment matters, including documentation and communication with agencies
  • Coordinate benefit enrollment and work closely with our insurance broker on plan options and pricing
  • Conduct new hire orientations and exit processes to support positive employee transitions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with all employee and organizational information
  • Collaborate with the HR Coordinator and Fiscal Manager to promote consistency and support across the agency
  • Provide basic IT support as needed, including minor troubleshooting and assisting with assigned hardware/software maintenance

Requirements


  • At least 1 year of hands-on accounts payable (AP) experience – this is essential
  • Accounts receivable (AR) experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Paylocity payroll software is a bonus
  • Understanding of nonprofit accounting and grant funding is very helpful
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with online banking and payroll systems
  • Formal education or coursework in bookkeeping and/or computer operations preferred
  • Friendly, professional communication style and a team-oriented mindset
  • Commitment to the mission of early childhood care/education and Head Start 
  • Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
