What You'll Do

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue by growing their assigned territory with new business and relationship development. The Business Development Manager nurtures the overall health and growth of these new accounts. PEAK is Client Centric and this role requires high levels of customer service. This role has a proven track record of understanding how to logistically work with all market segments and client types. Their expertise and skillset allows them to act as a consultant to our clients to improve repeat jobs year over year. Business Development Managers are among the most experienced members of our sales team. They are seasoned and well respected industry professionals. The day to day involves researching new business, visiting potential clients, entertaining accounts, keeping up with personal phone and email volume, entering and updating orders in our computer system, troubleshooting inventory questions and meeting with clients in our showroom or on their job site. This position works collaboratively with various departments to achieve customer satisfaction. The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible for new business development, strengthening customer relationships, generating revenue and achieving long-term goals that are in line with company vision and values, with a proven track record of sales ranging between $4M-$7.5M+.


The Day-to-Day

• Directly responsible for soliciting new business development (outside sales) and/or reviving dormant accounts• Proactively meets with prospective accounts to showcase equipment, offer suggestions and growth strategies• Prospect, identify, and close new business opportunities across the wedding, corporate, nonprofit, social, hospitality, food services and sports & entertainment segments.• Generate leads and opportunities through cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and leveraging local market knowledge.• Proactively maintain and expand strategic accounts• Conduct on-site visits, consultations, and presentations with potential clients to understand their event needs and propose rental solutions.• Build and maintain a pipeline of new accounts, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to signed agreement.• Stay informed on local market trends, competitors, and industry opportunities.• Track activities and opportunities in the CRM system, providing regular reporting to sales leadership.• Conducts annual account reviews and understands all data relating to this relationship• Creates customer orders and assist customers with order design, order changes and questions• Maintains a high volume of emails and phone calls • Consult with clients to determine event details and rental needs• Identify and manage target client prospects• Prepare all customer quotes and follow up within 48 hours• Prepare and enter customer orders and production schedules/timelines, verify entered orders for accuracy, complete all revisions/additions• Participate and share experiences/best practices in sales meetings• Identify leads, close sales, manage prospects and acquire new business• Conduct showroom appointments and design meetings as needed• Master order entry software including delivery, return, labor pricing, overrides and billing procedures• Problem solve and troubleshoot rental inventory issues• Educate and inform customers about all rental items available and cross sell all company products• Some weekends required for appointments, site visits and installations. • Understand and respect the confidentiality of client and company information• Establish yourself as a trustworthy member of the sales team both internally and externally• Attend a minimum of one industry networking event or client warehouse tour per month and build relationships for the future business of the company• Offer guidance and solutions to junior inside sales team as needed• Work with senior management to develop strategies and achieve sales goals


This position reports directly to the Director of Sales. Clear communication skills, the willingness to become a team player and help out when needed is the kind of attitude that’s required to be successful in this position. Our management style is a team approach to problem solving.   It is especially important for the person functioning in this position to develop trust within the Sales and Operations Departments. Honoring commitments made to customers by our sales team is critical to maintaining our industry reputation for high quality products and service. You will be involved on a daily basis with fulfilling those commitments.




Requirements

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of hospitality experience with an event rental company, caterer, food service provider, event planner, festival producer, venue, or hotel

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals of $4M+

• Sales experience and hospitality degree is a plus

• Valid drivers license, reliable transportation and ability to drive across assigned territory to solicit new business and meet with customers in person

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident with in-person and phone-based sales.

• Highly organized with strong follow-through and time management skills.

• Comfortable working independently in the field with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.

• Willingness to attend evening/weekend industry events or networking functions as needed.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday (rotating weekends as needed)

• Proficient with computers (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Order Management systems)

• Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

• Existing network in the event, hospitality, or catering industries.

• Knowledge of event production timelines and rental logistics is a plus.
