Chief Growth Officer

Smalls is looking for a commercially-minded growth leader to drive the next chapter of our DTC expansion. As Chief Growth Officer (CGO), you will own Smalls’ direct-to-consumer revenue growth. This includes full accountability for new customer acquisition, retention, and LTV expansion. You will manage our Marketing and Product teams and collaborate across functions—especially CX, Pricing, Merchandising, and Innovation—to drive compounding, profitable growth.

This role is both strategic and executional: you’ll marry data, brand, and product to deliver outsized results. You should bring a proven track record scaling a DTC business to $100M+ in revenue, with deep experience across performance marketing, customer lifecycle, and product-led growth strategies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and evolve the DTC growth strategy across acquisition, lifecycle, retention, and upsell.

  • Lead high-performing Marketing and Product teams, aligning them to revenue, margin, and LTV goals.

  • Drive optimization of CAC, payback period, LTV, and retention across the customer journey.

  • Collaborate closely with Finance and the CEO on revenue forecasting, investment planning, and strategic prioritization.

  • Provide strong input into pricing, merchandising, and innovation strategies to ensure alignment with growth goals.

  • Champion test-and-learn culture across teams and lead decision-making grounded in rigorous analysis and customer insight.

  • Ensure alignment between performance marketing, brand storytelling, and product experience to create compounding growth.

  • Serve as a strong senior leader on the team and collaborate cross-functionally with other leaders to address Smalls’ most important strategic goals.

What We’ll Love About You:

  • Performance-first marketer with 5+ years experience in growth marketing, creative strategy, or paid media, preferably in a DTC or consumer subscription business.

  • Hands-on channel expertise, particularly in Meta with proven track record driving growth, and an understanding of audience segmentation, ad formats, creative best practices, and platform-specific KPIs.

  • Creative strategist at heart who knows how to turn insights into concepts that perform, especially in the context of direct response.

  • Data-savvy and curious, comfortable interpreting dashboards and partnering with analytics to optimize performance.

  • Strong cross-functional collaborator, able to brief creatives, work closely with media buyers, and present confidently to leadership.

  • Startup-minded—you move fast, test constantly, and love rolling up your sleeves.

  • Excited to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners – we’re a lean & collaborative team. Growth Marketing doesn’t operate in a silo; we collaborate closely with product, ux, design, brand, etc.
