HR Employee Relations Specialist

Description

 We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused professional to join our team as an Employee Relations Specialist. In this role, you will help foster a positive and respectful work environment by managing employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws, and promoting open communication across all levels of the organization.

You will provide expert guidance on workplace concerns, conduct thorough investigations, and support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and overall workplace culture.

Requirements

Essential Functions: 

  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers to address workplace concerns,  conflicts, and grievances.
  • Conduct impartial investigations into employee complaints, including harassment, discrimination, and policy violations.
  • Recommend appropriate resolutions, disciplinary actions, or corrective measures based on findings.
  • Support the HR      team in handling performance improvement plans (PIPs) and disciplinary actions.
  • Mediate disputes between employees and/or management to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Creates and supports employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace morale and retention.
  • Conduct stay and exit interviews, employee satisfaction surveys, and analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with leadership to develop strategies for maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Assist in training programs on topics such as conflict resolution, harassment prevention, and effective communication.
  • Assist in the determination of and compliance with employee ADA accommodation. 
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations cases and investigations.
  • Prepare reports and analyses on employee relations trends, turnover, and workplace concerns.
  • Collaborate with      HR leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements in employee relations practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in employee relations, HR generalist roles, or labor relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience conducting investigations and writing detailed reports is a plus.
  • HR certification   (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
  • Experience working in healthcare is preferred.
