The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown is looking for a Sports & Entertainment Sales Manager who fully embodies our values, shares a passion for excellence, and infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. As Sports & Entertainment Sales Manager, you will be accountable for shaping the client experience by providing exceptional service in support of our world-renowned hotel. FSNYD is recognized as a Forbes 5 Star Hotel; Forbes 5 Star Spa and AAA 5 Diamond Hotel.

This position reports to the Director of Commercial and Director of Sales for New York Downtown.

Position Summary:

The Sports & Entertainment Sales Manager is responsible for developing and managing business opportunities related to the sports, entertainment, and media industries. This role focuses on increasing hotel revenue by cultivating partnerships with professional and amateur sports teams, entertainment groups, concert organizers, and film/TV production companies. The manager will actively prospect, sell, and maintain key relationships while coordinating with internal departments to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, target, and secure new business from sports teams, leagues, entertainment agencies, production crews, and related partners.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to grow revenue in transient, group, and event bookings within the sports and entertainment segments.
  • Respond to RFPs, prepare proposals, negotiate rates, and close contracts in line with revenue goals.
  • Attend trade shows, and industry networking events to represent the brand and expand market reach.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for sports and entertainment clients from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate with internal operations teams to ensure client needs and expectations are met.
  • Track and report on sales performance, pipeline, and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate records in Golden/Opera systems and ensure timely communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns targeting the sports & entertainment markets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of sales experience in hospitality, ideally with exposure to the sports or entertainment industries.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality operations and event logistics.
  • Proven track record in business development and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on client needs and event schedules.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce) and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Existing relationships within sports and entertainment networks.
  • Experience coordinating with film/tv production crews and athletic organizations.
  • Familiarity with union labor, hotel buyouts, and location agreements for film & media projects.
  • Luxury hotel Sales preferred and or operational hotel experience, proven sales track record a plus.
