HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Varsity Brands seeks a dynamic and driven Director of Strategy & Transformation to join our team, reporting directly to the Chief of Strategy & Business Development. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving meaningful impact and value creation by strategically planning and tactically implementing transformative initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate visionary leadership, exceptional collaboration skills, and a proven ability to effectively influence stakeholders and drive alignment across all levels of the organization.


This role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, KKR investment and operating professionals, and external partners, providing an exceptional platform for accelerated career growth and high-impact results within a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Identify and Develop Growth Opportunities: Lead enterprise-level strategic evaluations of new market entry, competitive positioning, and potential acquisition targets. Guide and oversee due diligence workstreams, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to influence investment decisions and shape long-term growth strategies.

  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Own high-impact, cross-functional strategic initiatives, partnering with senior leaders across the business to shape and execute the company's most critical transformation priorities.

  • Translate executive-level goals into actionable plans and ensure alignment, momentum, and measurable results.

  • Execute Advanced Analytics and Insights: Direct the development and synthesis of key analytics to inform enterprise strategy.

  • Leverage team resources, advisors, or internal stakeholders as needed to unlock insights that support strategic decision-making at the executive and Board level.

  • Deliver Executive-Level Communications: Own development of strategic communications for the CEO, Board, and KKR partners, including business cases, transformation updates, and investment narratives.

  • Ensure clarity, alignment, and impact in all materials presented to senior stakeholders.

  • Accelerate Operational Excellence: Serve as a thought partner and integrator across business units, ensuring initiatives are properly scoped, resourced, and executed.

  • Establish governance rhythms, KPIs, and review cadences to monitor performance and maintain accountability.

  • Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Act as an interface to KKR, brand partners, and potential acquisition targets, building long-term relationships that support Varsity’s expansion goals.

  • Represent Strategy function in partner negotiations, integrations, and strategic alliances.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university; MBA is a plus but not required

  • 4-6 years of total professional strategy or transformation experience, ideally including 3–4 years at a top-tier strategy consulting firm (e.g., BCG, Bain, McKinsey) plus 1–2 years in an industry, transformation, or operating role

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating complex challenges into strategic decisions and enterprise-level impact

  • Advanced proficiency in developing executive-level presentations, showcasing strong skills in strategic storytelling, data synthesis, and visual communication

  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to shape and deliver insights to influence senior executives, Boards, and external partners

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic workstreams independently, synthesize diverse inputs, and drive decision-making in ambiguous environments

  • Experience managing multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously, with a focus on results, accountability, and cross-functional execution

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven capability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and influence at all levels of the organization
